
Founded in honor of Yun Isang (1917-1995), an internationally acclaimed composer born in Tongyeong, the memorial spans an area of 6,437m² in Docheon-dong, the very location of his birthplace.
The memorial features an exhibition center designed to showcase items left behind by Yun, the Memory Hall with a capacity for 100 audience, and a music square intended for outdoor performances. In the exhibition hall, there are 170 items on display, which include the cello he played during his lifetime, the passport he used while studying in France and Germany, a small national flag he always carried, and a sculpture of his bust.
