Mt. Byeokbangsan

Mt. Byeokbangsan

The highest mountain in the Tongyeong area is the 650.3-meter high Mt. Byeokbangsan, a peak of rugged beauty with a craggy ridgeline etched against the sky.
Azalea and other flowers in spring or colorful foliage in autumn cover the entire mountainside beckoning to mountaineers in both seasons.
Nestled on the mountain are the Anjeongsa Temple, said to be built by the Great Priest Wonhyo of the Silla Kingdom (57 B.C–A.D. 918), and its affiliated hermitages such as Gaseobam, Uisangam, and Eunbongam.
