Hansando Island

During the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592, the Tongjeyeong Naval Station was established on Hansando Island to protect the three southern provinces. From many vantage points visitors can see the site of the great naval exploits of Admiral Yi Sun-sin who defeated the Japanese invaders.
Also commands an unobstructed view of the seascape of Hansanman Bay, attracting a throng of visitors year round.
