Located across the Gangguan, this marine product wholesale market sells fresh fish caught in the pure sea off Tongyeong and the delicious looking marine products. The place is bustling with many tourists.
Also known as “Gwanmun Market” due to its location at a place with that name, merchants here trade in a wide range of local products. A variety of delicacies are on offer as many restaurants here serve dishes made with local products.
Laver rice rolls and sashimi are recommended to travelers. The laver-rice roll restaurants are clustered in streets around Gangguan in Hangnam-dong, the Tongyeong Ferry Terminal in Seoho-dong, and Tongyeong Excursion Boats Terminal in Donam-dong. Visitors can enjoy sashimi alfresco at about 50 sashimi restaurants facing the sea, including those at Yeongsaeng Shopping Mall, and near the shoreline from Daeyeong Utopia Mall at Misu-dong in the Mireukdo Tourism Area.
