Mt. Mangsan on Hansando Island

Trails on Mt. Mangsan Hansando Island retain many traces of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. Standing on the mountaintop, you can surely imagine how Admiral Yi maneuvered the fleet of warships around the islands and led the huge victory against the Japanese in 1592.
Thick pine trees attract many mainland weekenders to the trails. Climbing from Jeseungdang Shrine, which houses relics of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, over the top of Mt. Mangsan to Jindu Village takes about three hours.
